Your Dream + Marketing Skills = Success

What if I told you that you could keep your existing job – that you didn’t have to sacrifice what you’re doing or compromise your integrity to take care of your family? You can actually build multiple streams of revenue with what I can teach you.

What did you want to do when you were a child?

My daughter, Breanna, wanted to dance. That’s all she wanted to do. Russian, period movement, all forms of dance. Sword fighting – she studied everything imaginable, but ballet was the foundation. The thing is, we started with the wrong trainers. Though we finally got to the right training – 15 years of it – she never did get into a professional company.

From that frustration – and what other people might describe as failure – she produced a business, one of her own design. She now knows how to make sure that other dancers don’t go through what she went through, that they’re properly directed. And she is still a dancer.

What if you found out that through my training program, you didn’t need to compromise your dream?

My son, Sterling, wanted to be a skateboarder, and he also had a fascination with music. The music eventually transcended the skateboarding, but not before he marketed a science project we did together to a major company that offered him three gigs per day at $600 a gig, five days a week, traveling to promote their brand at schools. He turned them down, because what he really wanted to do was pursue music. Sure, the skateboard marketing would have been a fast buck, but if he’d done that, he might not have found the music in his life. Right now, he’s still on his path, studying at Berklee School of Music in Boston. He’s following his dream. He’s got the talent; he’s got the technique; and because of what I’ve taught him, he’s got the marketing skills.

Without marketing skills, your dream – no matter how spectacular – may never manifest. Without the skills to position and differentiate yourself, where will you be? The man occupying the White House used marketing in a very unconventional fashion that blew the experts away. I’m not getting political here – I just want to make the point that the marketing I teach you could potentially make you president of your own world. A leader.

Where were you when you were a child? What were your dreams?

You don’t need to give up on your dreams. The greatest thing you can do for your children is to show them someone who is connected and present. Imagine through this process that you can have control of your destiny, a life by design where your children can be with you and observe someone who’s connected and entirely involved, motivated, and passionate about what they do. Imagine a scenario where you can teach them to be present, motivated, and passionate about what they do. And imagine that you’re able to raise your children, be there for them, and be an example of someone with ambition. Someone with a vision. Someone who’s a director and a producer in life. A visionary. A director. And a producer of their own life. Where could you go? Where could your children go? Where will you go?

You should be taking notes here. Where were you? Remembering what you wanted as a child is one of the fastest ways to find out what you might want to do for the rest of your life. And it doesn’t matter what it is, because I can show you how to monetize anything. ANYthing. I’ll say it again. I can show you how to monetize anything.

Since 8th grade, when I did my first “Career Notebook”, I have dreamed of being a jazz (studio) musician. In my later teens and early twenties, I was so busy with music, in the recording studios and stages, in Hollywood, I hardly slept. I had awesome mentors, and played in groups with the sons of working professional musicians in the film, TV, and recording studios.

Then, when the moment of truth came, and I had to confront my mother, who told me that if I did not want to get a college degree, and I wanted to have a life in music, that I should move out of the house now, and do it all without her support. Effectively, she said, I will love you if you go to college, but not if you want to be a musician. Totally unprepared for this, I caved in to her demand, and stuffed down, suppressed my desire, my dream of making music. For that choice, I suffered greatly for decades, going from one unfulfilling “job” to the next. My mentors and colleagues moved on, without me, and about 8 out of 10 of them were very successful in the music business.

Thankfully, I never stopped practicing my instrument. I play every day – a little, or a lot. My performance improved. That is my proof and validation that I can do it. I perform regularly today, but at venues, and at a level that is beneath my true ability.

It is now time for me to reclaim my dream, and bring it to fruition. In addition to that dream, I desire to hold enough real estate to generate enough passive income to replace my mediocre working income, and allow me the freedom to afford to live my chosen lifestyle, without putting my musical ambitions in jeopardy.

Thank You, Joel Bauer
